Measure the length and width of your room or wall in metres and multiply them together to get the area in square metres. For an L-shaped room, split it into rectangles, work out each one separately, and add them together. Then add 10% for cuts, wastage and breakages — increase that to 15% if you're laying a diagonal or herringbone pattern, or using large-format tiles that need more cutting around edges.
